--WELCOME--
Dear
Friends and Colleagues,
It's my pleasure to see you in Sarajevo on the occasion of an extraordinary
scientific and social event: BIMA - FIMA INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
2001 organized in Bosnia and Herzegovina by BIMA. What's more, this
Convention coincides with 18th annual meeting of FIMA Council. Sarajevo
is the perfect spot for these manifestations. Everyone loves Sarajevo
for it's cultural, historic and multiethnic legacy and everyone
understands the benefit of such an environment to cultivate both
professional and scientific knowledge and to establish friendships
among colleagues. The city of Sarajevo is by nature, and by history,
a bridge between East and West. So, in addition to the scientific
program, accompanying persons and delegates will have the opportunity
to see Sarajevo at its best, with an interesting social program
and some unique experiences. BIMA was organized to provide a forum
to understand and practice Islamic Ideology in the medical profession.
At this juncture, we need to re assess our selves as organization
and individuals and try to do something more than what we are doing
at the moment. Constructive relationships of cooperation and understanding
we were established or strengthened with various IMAs, especially
in areas of medical care, education, relief and scholarships. Being
Muslim physicians we have to do our best in regards to our obligations
towards Islam and Medicine. In the end, I pray to Allah Almighty
to grant us wisdom and peace and forgive us for our shortcomings
His guidance and support to work in His sacred path.
Bakir Mehic
